Sometimes I need a lot of positive advice to keep me from getting overwhelmed. I wrote the following during one of those times. I’m posting it here for anyone who feels the same need.

Take a deep breath. It’s not as bad as you imagine.
You’re doing better than you think you are.
You’re probably blowing the problem out of proportion. Even if you’re not, try to remember that most things get better with time. Take it one day at a time.
You’ll find a solution. There are lots of voices willing to tell you what to do. Listen to the still, small voice.
Pray. Every minute.
Don’t forget the times God has helped you during painful trials. Don’t forget the times he carried your ancestors. Don’t forget that the people you’re worried about are his children first. He knows how to help them. He knows how to help you. Ask. Ask for his help. He’s there. He will listen.

Read the scriptures. Listen to the Lord speak. Be inspired. The Lord has helped countless people. He will help you, too.
Don’t forget to get some rest. Relax. Watch a movie, something funny to make you laugh. Do Yoga. Play a game. Read a book, a fun one.
And when you look for help, listen to uplifting advice. The kind that says, you’re doing better than you think you are. Because you are. Listen to the advice that helps you feel like you’re not alone. To the people who are realistic, the ones you relate to. Listen to the people who help you feel better, not worse, like you’re not doing enough, like you’re doing everything wrong. If you’re worried that you’re not doing enough, then you’re probably doing plenty.
Just do the next right thing. One thing.
And tomorrow, do one more thing. Or the same thing again. If it’s the right thing.
God doesn’t expect you to be more than you are right now. He’ll make you what you need to be, if you do one right thing, right now. Then tell him how it went and see how he can magnify it. And do what he asks next. It’s not hard.
The Savior will make your burden light. He WILL carry you. You are enough, if you rely on him. With him, all things are possible.
Trust him.
You are doing better than you think you are.
Pray. Every minute.
